I sat for my AL's at Nalanda College in 1978.That's my secondary school.Even now I remind my school with great pride and respect.With peace and kind of silence in college enviorment always gave me great consentration on studies.

After succeeded my AL's I got admission to Sri lanka University, Colombo Campus to physical science faculty in 1979. but at the same time I got scholarship to study in former soviet union.Having discussion with our pricipal at that time Mr.Sugunadasa Athukorala I chose to enter in to Moscow State University.In 1979 I left the country and began studing in State University of Lvov called Lvov Polytechnical Institute, Lvov (Liviv),Ukraine.
I was there for more than five years and earned my Master Degree in Civil Engineering (specialized in Industrial and Building construction) in 1985. After obtaining my degree I arrived in Sri lanka and joined Mahaweli Economic Agency of the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka as a Civil Engineer in 1986.Having involved with various projects during my stay with MEA I gained valuable experience in Irrigation Engineering.Having closely worked with CH2M Hill International (USA) Consulting Team I was ready for further studies. When civil unrest started in 1988 I left to persue my studies in UK in early 1989.
After arrived in UK in 1989 I have worked for several firms and later in 1992 enrolled in to City University City University, London.In 1993 I obtained Post graduate Diploma in structural Engineering. In 1994 I returned to Sri Lanka and joined Southern Group Civil Construction (Pvt.) Ltd., Borella, Colombo 10 as a Senior Civil engineer and assisted project management on road rehabilitation project with corporation of BAT International(Italy). I stayed with them untill I migrated to Canada in 1996.
